The early morning stretches are all about covering ground and enjoying the big views that Central West NSW is known for. By mid-morning, we reach Wyangala Dam, where we’ll top up the tanks. The dam itself is a highlight — the ride in gives us a taste of the rugged hills and winding roads that surround the water. Once refuelled, we’ll loop around the edge of the dam and into some truly awesome riding, with climbs, descents, and lake views that make it one of the most scenic sections of the rally. From Wyangala, we push west, linking up a series of backroads and quiet stretches that lead us toward Cowra. The terrain shifts as we near the finish, with a good run through forest country — a mix of dirt and trail that keeps the energy high right to the end of the day.
