Daily loops dive into deep river valleys like the Crooked River corridor, where riders encounter repeated, momentum-driven water crossings and slick river-rock entry points. As the routes ascend toward the high country, narrow forestry tracks give way to dramatic, high-altitude ridgelines—most notably the ascent up the Blue Rag Range toward its iconic Trig Point, offering panoramic views across the alpine national park.

Because the route covers approximately 800 kilometers of varying, often isolated terrain, the event relies on lightweight single-cylinder machinery (such as 300–500cc dual-sports and light adventure bikes). To ensure safety and self-sufficiency over long distances between fuel stops, Vagabond Moto provides each registered rider with a 5L fuel bladder alongside pre-loaded GPX routes.

A dedicated support crew—consisting of lead riders, sweep riders, trail mechanics, and satellite-connected medical support—monitors the pack throughout each loop. A dedicated 4WD sweep vehicle follows accessible sections of the course to assist with major mechanical failures or transport gear, allowing riders to travel unencumbered by heavy luggage during the day.

Unlike point-to-point rally raids that require moving camp every night, this tour operates as a star-shaped event originating out of Dargo each morning. Riders return every afternoon to the grounds of the historic Dargo Hotel, where they can stay in on-site log cabins, motel rooms, or the surrounding campground.
